Out of the ordinary?

If anyone had been watching as we entered the café at lunch, they wouldn’t have noticed anything out of the ordinary;
Not about me, the sibling or the Grandfather who was accompanying us for lunch.
Today the café was bustling with people; leftovers waiting to be cleared on empty tables.
No one paid any attention to the child with the big blue eyes and freckled face or the constant flicking of her fingers
No one turned to look as the child with barefeet made sure she got her usual table.
No ones gaze lingered as her chair scraped noisily on the floor trying to get the position just right.
None who saw her could have guessed the anxiety seeping out of her every pore.
No one stopped to look as little growls were made when she’d been waiting too long.
There she was, so ordinary looking that she hardly merited notice.
Overlooked completely were her quirks and differences.
No one who saw her could have guessed she had Autism.
In fact, even if anyone had of looked closely enough at her, they wouldn’t have noticed anything.
If anyone had been watching as we entered the café at lunch, they wouldn’t have noticed anything out of the ordinary.
No one who saw her could see Autism.
None who saw her would realise how hard she worked to have achieved just that.
No one pays any attention to a hidden disability.
